Travel & Getting Around
Steamboat Springs is tucked into the mountains of northwest Colorado, and getting there is part of the experience. Most guests will fly into either Denver International Airport or Eagle County Regional Airport.
Denver International Airport (DEN): Approximately 180 miles from Steamboat Springs. The drive takes about 3 to 3.5 hours depending on traffic and weather.
Eagle County Regional Airport (EGE): Approximately 88 miles from Steamboat Springs. The drive takes around 2 hours.
Renting a car is recommended if you’d like the flexibility to explore beyond Steamboat. There are incredible day trips, scenic drives, and hot springs throughout the area if you want to make a longer Colorado getaway out of the trip.
That said, a car is not required once you arrive. Steamboat has plenty of convenient options including rideshare services, local shuttles, and a free bus system that runs throughout town. Downtown is very walkable, so getting to restaurants, shops, and events is easy without needing to drive.
Where to Stay
While we don’t have an official room block, there are plenty of great options depending on your style and budget. Many guests are staying at the Western Lodge, well-located option in downtown Steamboat. If you prefer something closer to the mountain, The Steamboat Grand is a popular choice near the base area. Homewood Suites by Hilton has suites with kitchens and is located just a few miles from downtown.
There are also many great Airbnb or Vacation Rental by Owner options both downtown and near the base of the ski mountain if you’re traveling with a group or want more space.
Make a Weekend of It: The wedding will begin at 4:00 PM on Friday, September 25. We’re planning a relaxed weekend around it and hope you’ll join for as much as you can. We’re hoping to host a casual yoga session on Friday morning, and on Saturday we’ll be around town for tacos, football, and an evening soak at the Strawberry Hot Springs.
If you’re able to stay through Sunday, we’d love to spend the extra time with you.
